The short answer
On a LUMIX, the LUT Library lives under MENU → Custom Menu → Photo Quality → LUT Library. It holds up to 39 registered LUT files. Loading a LUT into the Library does not apply it. To shoot with a look, you register it here first, then switch the Photo Style to Real Time LUT and pick it.
Library versus Real Time LUT
This is the distinction that causes most of the confusion, and it is worth getting straight because the two live in different menus.

Loading a LUT from a card
- Copy the .cube file to the root directory of your card, not into a folder.
- Insert the card and go to MENU → Custom Menu → Photo Quality → LUT Library.
- Select an empty registration slot.
- Choose Load, then pick your file from the card.
- Switch the Photo Style to Real Time LUT and select the look you just registered.

The Library only lists files it can read. Panasonic requires alphanumeric characters only, and on a FAT32 card (any SD or SDHC up to 32GB) a name of 8 characters or fewer excluding the extension. A file called vintage-summer.cube can therefore load from a 64GB SDXC card and quietly fail from a 32GB SDHC card in the same body. Rename it to something short and plain and try again.
Managing a full Library
Thirty-nine slots sounds generous until you have collected a few creator packs. The Library lets you tidy up rather than start over:
- Delete removes a registered LUT you loaded yourself. The built-in Vlog_709 entry cannot be deleted.
- Edit Title renames a custom LUT, which is how you get a readable name back after the 8-character card limit forced you to load it as something like
LOOK01. - Sorting reorders your custom LUTs, so the three looks you actually shoot sit at the top instead of buried under samples.
Worth doing before a shoot rather than during one. If you keep a fixed set of go-to looks, save each as a My Photo Style preset so it is one press away and you are not scrolling the Library in the field.
A note on range
Panasonic recommends loading full-range LUT files. If a file's range property differs, the manual warns that images may not display or record correctly, which usually shows up as crushed blacks or clipped highlights that look wrong in a way you cannot dial out with opacity. If a LUT loads but renders strangely, range is a likely culprit. Every LumiLUTs look is built full-range for exactly this reason.

Where is the LUT Library on a LUMIX?
On bodies such as the S9 and GH7 it sits under MENU, then Custom Menu, then Photo Quality, then LUT Library. It is a separate place from the Real Time LUT photo style: the Library is where LUTs are stored, the photo style is where you apply one.
How many LUTs can the LUMIX LUT Library hold?
Up to 39 LUT files can be registered. On the S9, four slots are occupied out of the box by Vlog_709 and three sample LUTs, leaving the rest free for your own looks.
How do I delete a LUT from my LUMIX?
Open the LUT Library, select the registered LUT, and choose Delete. Custom LUTs you have loaded can be deleted, renamed with Edit Title, and reordered. The built-in Vlog_709 entry cannot be deleted.
What is the difference between the LUT Library and Real Time LUT?
The LUT Library is storage: it is the list of LUT files registered on the camera. Real Time LUT is a Photo Style that applies one of those stored LUTs to the JPEG and video as you shoot. A LUT has to be in the Library before the photo style can use it.
My LUT does not appear in the LUT Library, why?
Usually the file itself. It must be a .cube or .vlt in the root directory of the card, named with alphanumeric characters only, and no longer than 8 characters excluding the extension on a FAT32 SD or SDHC card. A .cube larger than 33-point will also be refused.
