What the Classic Negative look is
Fuji's Classic Negative is widely understood to emulate Fujicolor Superia, the everyday consumer negative film that defined the late 1990s and early 2000s: disposable cameras, point-and-shoots, holiday snapshots. That heritage is why the look reads as nostalgic rather than clinical.
Its signature is a specific, restrained palette rather than a punch of saturation. Shadows lean slightly cool and teal, highlights carry a warm amber cast, mid-tones sit muted, and reds and greens are held back. The result is moody, filmic and a little melancholic, which is why it became the favourite of street and everyday photographers.
Ninety-Nine: our Classic Negative style for LUMIX
